WHAT IS A FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER?
A Family Center is a gathering place - a hub of activity and education - for children, families, and others interested in supporting community by building family strengths. Centers offer families opportunities to improve and enrich their lives through educations, social opportunities, and access to community support services. Centers generally offer a core group of services which may include:

  • Affordable child care
  • Health services
  • Early childhood education
  • Parent education and resources
  • Community service information and referral
  • Recreational opportunities
  • Youth services
  • Adult education
  • Intergenerational & cross-cultural activities
  • Workforce development

    Activities and Resources Offered:

    • Parenting and Children's groups allow adults to share parenting challenges and joys, connect with other parents, and get ideas and tips on parenting. Children's groups meet at the same time as the parent group. Call for days and times. No charge for groups.
    • Free weekly "Read and Play" storytime and playgroup for parents/caregivers and children ages birth to 5: Fridays from 10-11 am.
